Water polo is a team game requiring multiple aquatic skills and individual and relational skill sets. Notably, strong character to withstand the toughness of the game. In totality, players are grown from playing the game to maturing into society. Therefore, as part of the 2007 Singapore Water Polo (SWP) office bearers, together with Mr. Lim Teck Yin (current CEO, SportSG) and Mr. Ivan Tan (former Vice-President SSA (WP)), we brainstormed and developed the slogan "Water Polo for Life."

In my sports career, I represented Team Singapore from 1984 to 1990, played and won the Gold medals in 1985, 1989 SEAGames, and Bronze in 1986 Asian Games. From 2007 to 2012, I have coached the SAFSA team. I have received the Best Coach Award for three (3) consecutive years. I am also a FINA certified Referee and conductor of local Technical courses.

As Head Coach of the SPEEDISWIM Water Polo team, I desire to nurture young players in ball games and water sports to become potential Club and School players, with the highest calling in playing for the National Team. The most satisfying part as a coach is to watch the kids grow in a healthy sporting environment.

My aspiration for the athletes is to excel both in sporting career and academically inclined, as they journey their Water Polo career with me at SPEEDISWIM.
