This course is the first in the progression of leadership courses that can lead to Instructor level. The Divemaster course, at least 40 hours of training time, includes classroom, pool and open water training.
Divemaster may provide on-site leadership for groups of certified divers during recreational scuba diving or for students during training under the supervision of a Instructor.
PREREQUISITES TO ENTER “DIVEMASTER-IN-TRAINING”
1.Be a certified Open Water Diver with a recognized agency.
2. Diving experience: Advanced Diver or, 20 logged dives including experience in Night, Navigation, Deep (beyond 20 m) and Search and Recovery diving.
3. Current certification in Standard First Aid (ARC, AHA, NSC, ASHI or equal)
4. Current certification in CPR (NSC, AHA, ARC, ASHI, or equivalent)
TRAINING INCLUDES
– Classroom
– Pool or Confined water
– Open water training
– Examination and testing
Our specialty courses permit the diver to gain comprehensive abilities in virtually any field of aquatic endeavor. Please be aware, some instructors may not have the credentials to teach every specialty.
